Vela Health

Built from healing psoriasis — not a generic wellness pitch

Doctors said I’d spend about $30,000 a year on medications for life. My mom and I changed how I ate, slept, and recovered — and in about three months my skin cleared. I’m building Vela Health so you can map your patterns the way I learned to — chronic skin first, alongside your clinician.

I’m Megan, founder of Vela — a molecular and cellular biology and data science major. My mom and I healed my psoriasis in three months — when doctors said it was impossible, and that I’d spend about $30,000 a year on medications just to keep symptoms away. I healed myself. I built Vela so I can help you heal too.

Those meds would have made me a lifelong customer. They were never designed to help me understand my body, my triggers, or how to heal. With my background in molecular biology and data science, I wanted to map patterns — not just chase symptoms. That gap is common: a five-minute consultation names a condition, but rarely maps what your body is actually doing.

So many people around me feel the same stuck place — rushed care, more of the same, and no clear path to root cause. I built Vela to help people in that position understand their body, find their triggers, and learn how to heal — the way I did, adapted for yours. Educational guidance alongside your clinician, never a replacement for medical care.

One product. Pre-launch.

Vela Health is building one loop for chronic skin: short daily check-ins, blood work you upload, and pattern insights you can take to your clinician. Learn guides and a free tracker are available today. Early access opens in waves — subscription pricing aims under $20/month; founding members lock in early pricing.

Three steps. One clear loop.

Same loop as the homepage — what early access is building: tell Vela about your day, add labs when you can, and see what lines up with calmer skin.

01 · Day Tell Vela about your day Meals, sunlight, sleep, stress, symptoms — a short check-in that fits your routine.
02 · Labs Upload your blood work When you have labs, Vela helps you read numbers next to how you feel day to day.
03 · Patterns See what drives your flares Keep what works for your body, drop what doesn’t — with your clinician in the loop.

Named research pillars

We start with autoimmune and inflammatory skin. Differentiation is longitudinal pattern work — circadian light, gut–skin axis research, sleep and inflammation, self-monitoring for chronic conditions, and food patterns that lower metabolic load — turned into steps you can keep. That is lifestyle science and root-cause curiosity alongside dermatology, not a replacement for it.

Skin Sleep Stress Gut & food Inflammation Circadian light
Body clock & hormones Light, sleep, and stress shape energy, flares, and recovery through your daily rhythm.
Food that protects What you eat can help prevent many diseases — protein, fiber, plants, and timing steady blood sugar, inflammation, and hunger.
Gut & immune balance Digestion, fiber, and stress influence gut comfort and how calm your immune system stays.
Habits that stick Daily check-ins show your patterns week by week — without waiting for the next appointment.

What Vela does — and doesn’t

Vela helps you track flares and habits, suggests evidence-informed next steps, and shows patterns. It does not diagnose, prescribe, replace your clinician, or handle emergencies. Educational guidance is informed by published research and lived experience — not clinical partnership badges.

Does Short daily check-ins, habit plans with a why, pattern insights, educational language.
Doesn’t Diagnosis, prescriptions, meds stoppage advice, emergency care, or selling your email.

Understand your body. Practice what helps.

Every decision makes or breaks your life. What you allow translates into your health — now and years from now. Understand your body. Practice what helps. Keep what works. Doctors often miss the daily pattern beneath the symptom, or never have the time to map how your choices compound — Vela was built for that gap.

What you allow writes your health Food, sleep, stress, and movement compound. Every decision matters now and years from now.
What medicine often misses Fifteen-minute visits treat today’s symptom — not the habits that write your future. Vela maps what doctors rarely have time to care about.
Credible knowledge Informed by peer-reviewed research we can point to — transparent about limits, not absolute.
Food that protects Eating certain foods can help prevent many diseases — we turn that into plates you can cook this week.
Easy in your routine Small, cookable, walkable steps you can start without overhauling life.
Your patterns first Community comparison comes later. Early access focuses on understanding your logs and labs.
Use Vela with confidence — and with care Vela can make mistakes. Check important health info with a clinician. This is educational guidance, not diagnosis or treatment. Prefer partners who respect food and lifestyle. For stroke, heart attack, severe infection, trauma, or suicidal crisis, go to emergency care immediately.
